About

Pride Squamish is a Nonprofit 2SLGBTQIA+ Registered Society in the Traditional, Ancestral, Unceded Sḵwx̱wú7mesh-ulh Temíx̱w (Squamish Territory). 

As a registered Society, the Pride Squamish Board of Directors that is elected, or re-elected, annually at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Pride Squamish is committed to our growth as a Society to reflect the progress reflected within our community and decolonizing our practices with each step forward. This includes our commitment to active reconciliation and decolonization practices, as well as anti-oppressive frameworks. We all belong. We have always been here, and we are not going anywhere.

Vision

Pride Squamish sees a future in Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) where all who live in community can grow up and live safe, healthy and proud of who they are. Together, we can all thrive and support one another. In this current political climate, it is more important than ever to link arms and show our strength.

Board of Directors 

In the year 2025, the Board of Directors has four (4) volunteers working to create and support 2SLGBTQIA+ focused gatherings and community building efforts. Board members, most of whom also have full-time commitments, participate in monthly meetings, support community collaborations and efforts, and create safe spaces to gather and build community year round.

The Board works collaboratively with community partners and our local 2SLGBTQIA+ community. We are grateful for the beautiful and ongoing support from volunteers, the broader community and local businesses.

You will see us out and about in the community wearing Pride t-shirts, hats, socks, and our long-awaited hoodies, so don’t be afraid to say hello. Pride Squamish merchandise is available at select Squamish locations so that everyone can represent and show support for our 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

Let’s gather, grow, support and celebrate together! We all BELONG, and we are here to remind you of that.
